Embrace the holiday spirit at a community sing-along of selections from Handel’s renowned Messiah!

Started by a group of community members in 2022, the Elgin Sing-Along Messiah is an interactive community sing-along that raises awareness and funding for Elgin charities while showcasing the talent of Elgin-area musicians and vocalists, including the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Midwest Opera Theatre, and members of the Elgin Master Chorale.

As an audience member, you become part of the production, singing the choruses. No musical experience is necessary. The Elgin Sing-Along Messiah is just over one hour long, making it perfect for all ages.

Note: Seating this year is general admission; vocal range sections, where members of the Elgin Master Chorale will assist in leading the sections in the choruses, will be available.

The Elgin Sing-Along Messiah is sponsored by an anonymous donor and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.

2025 Charity Partner: Well Child Center

Each year, the Elgin Sing-Along Messiah committee selects a charity that provides human services to Elgin residents as its Charity Partner. We are pleased to announce that proceeds from the 2025 Sing-Along will benefit Well Child Center.

For more than 50 years, Well Child Center has been committed to improving the lives of vulnerable women, children and families through education, counseling, and services in the areas of nutrition and oral health. The organization will use the donations to purchase culturally appropriate, child-friendly, nutritious food – including fresh fruits and vegetables, and meats – for its Food for Families emergency food pantry.
